Dear readers,

I want to thank everyone again for their prayers, thoughts, kind words and well wishes. My family and I really appreciate it. A family member, who was in the hospital and is currently in an assisted living facility, continues to improve.

Since this is a very private person, I can only reveal so much but this person might officially be coming home on Nov. 1. I met with several people at the facility today and that date is possible, though it might be a little after that depending on how much improvement is made.

The ICA Newsroom was at "Saving the Brain," which is the 7th Annual Neuroscience Symposium of the Central Coast. This event took place on Oct. 11 at Fess Parker's DoubleTree Resort in Santa Barbara, California.

Among the things discussed was the Surgical Navigation Advanced Platform (SNAP) from Surgical Theater, LLC. SNAP received FDA approval in July and Surgical Theater is calling it "the next frontier of operating room technology."

The SNAP integrates with operating room equipment and adds "super-realistic" 3D capabilities and augmented reality.
