ICA Moving to Texas with New President

Thu, 06/15/2017

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The International Chiari Association (ICA) made some major decisions at its June 9 board meeting at American Riviera Bank in downtown Santa Barbara.

It will be moving to Dallas, Texas and Johanna Clark will be the nonprofit organization's new president.

Clark, who has Chiari and syringomyelia, is a Navy veteran and former EMT. She replaces Pete Dal Bello, who did not run for re-election due to ongoing health problems and the recent deaths of two family members - including his mother.

"President Clark is going to do well," Dal Bello said. "The ICA will continue to help those with Chiari and the people that care about them."

Dal Bello, who was born with Chiari and had decompression surgery in 2009, founded the ICA in 2011 in Santa Barbara, California. He will remain on the board of directors.

The ICA is working on its move to Texas and another announcement will go out when the organization will return.
