This is an important call out to fellow Chiarians and those that care about them. The ICA's current Founder/President is on indefinite medical leave, as well as on leave for bereavement. We are looking for a compassionate, capable, motivated, volunteer CEO to step in and lead the 501(c)(3) into the future. Applicants can be from any location in the U.S., but California residency is a plus.

"Her death caught me off guard," Dal Bello added. "She said on Sunday, 'I'm doing pretty good and so happy.' Life can be sad, but I know that she is in peace."

On Tuesday, International Chiari Association (ICA) Founder/President Pete Dal Bello talked about Chiari, the ICA turning five years old on April 8, Mascot Courage the Bear and his plans to run for Santa Barbara City Council in 2017.

"One of my mottos is that we're all put here to help others and to not let anyone define you," Dal Bello told the mayor, city council and others in attendance. "Don't let your health, or what you look like or where you come from determine your present and future."
